A Couple Simple Rules to Generate Web Traffic
There have been tons and tons of information on how to generate web traffic. In fact this blog covers many different techniques or methods to increase web site traffic. But it really comes down to a couple of simple rules. For you people like me who hate the word rules let’s say methods to generate web traffic. They are:
1. Get high quality back links
2. Good Content
High quality backlinks are the backlinks that are from websites that have a page rank of better than 5 and the best are 6-9. Many of the social sites like Facebook and MySpace are high in the page ranks. A simple way of getting backlinks from them is to join and when creating a profile add the URL to your website in it. There are many more social sites than the two mentioned so you should be able to increase traffic to your website by hitting all of them. Another way to increase your website traffic is through commenting on other blogs. For high quality links here I suggest trying some of the make money on the web blogs such as ProBlogger.net or JohnChow.com. Don’t spam these sites but read what they have to say and give good relevant comments or you will be banned.
Good content which is updated regularly is another way to generate web traffic. If possible your blogs should be updated daily or never less than three times a week. To increase website traffic through content take some of your best posts and redo them and submit to articles sites with a link back to your website. This does two things it creates a backlink usually a high quality one and also will increase traffic to your website because you will be known as an expert in the field.
I know that these two methods have been gone over many times but it just helps to have reinforcement of them every once in awhile. For the people already doing these, good for you and if this post has inspired you to doing them, comment to me and tell me how it is going.

Trying to Increase Web Site Traffic Through Traffic Exchanges
In my journey known as Internet Marketing I have tried many methods to increase web site traffic. Included are traffic exchanges which were brought back to my mind when recently writing a guest article for another blog.
Simply put traffic exchanges are sites that require you sign up for an account so you can exchange traffic, much like link exchanges. The difference with traffic exchange is you earn credits by clicking on ads for other websites and when you earn enough credits you are allowed to advertise also on the site.
This method is time consuming and many say not worth it but the good point about traffic exchanges are they usually drive targeted website traffic to your blog. They do this by breaking the different advertisers down into categories. So if you are running say an auto repair blog you would probably be interested in that category. We all know that traffic and backlinks from similar sites hold more juice in the search engines than just random sites.
If you think you’d be interested in trying traffic exchanges to increase web site traffic I’m going to put a few sites I suggest trying below:

More Juice? Reciprocal or One Way Links
Even the newest of webmasters know that page rank and increased web site traffic are essential for having a top website. And most of the experts will tell you backlinks are a major part of increasing web site traffic, higher ranking, and more leads that turn into more sales. But many newbies also wonder how to get these coveted backlinks. This post is not so much about the” how to” but more of “what are” backlinks, in particular the difference between one way links and reciprocal links.
First off a backlink is when you another website links to your site from theirs. In the Google world as well as the other search engines these backlinks have importance or ”give juice” to the receiving “ website. The more backlinks, the faster the website moves up the ladder to reach the first page of search engine results. Reaching the first page then makes your website what a person sees when they search for a particular phrase or word AKA keywords. If your site is not one of the first that appears then you probably won’t be seen much, as most people find what they are looking for on the first page of search results.
Getting back to backlinks, there are two types one way or reciprocal. One way backlinks usually start like this. You write an awesome post and people believe you are now an expert in the subject in which you are writing about. Snippets or parts of your content are now quoted in other people’s posts and of course they pay respect to you by adding a link to your website. You’ve done nothing more or less than wrote an interesting or informative article or post and now your website will see increased traffic due to your expertise. See how easy that is? But unless you are already a celebrity of some sort one way backlinks are few and far between. There are other ways to get one way links but that will be discussed in later topics if not already covered in previous topics enough.
Reciprocal backlinks though take a little more work on your side. In reciprocal backlinks, commonly two webmasters get together and decide to include a link to each other’s site. Thus the word reciprocal or to reciprocate. Let me note here that these backlinks either one way or reciprocal should be between sites that are in the same niche or neither one of them will provide much juice.
So we get down to the question of which types links will drive you up in the search rankings and increase your website traffic more? Many of the experts will agree with me when I say one-way backlinks are the best overall because it doesn’t look like you are backlinking by purpose. In other words, somebody somewhere has determined that your site has something that other people want to look at. In the case of reciprocal links they look like a set up deal and are not showing any kind of respect just another way to get backlinks.
